Nature of This Resource

This is a private reference site. It is not part of the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, the Virginia Department of Corrections, a court, or any other public office. It does not possess official inmate files. Site operators cannot verify a person's present custody status, release someone, change an official record, or submit a form on a visitor's behalf.

The site organizes paths to jail, corrections, court, supervision, and release-record resources that may apply to Nelson County. Some functions may connect a visitor with an outside research provider. Those references do not turn the site into the agency that maintains the underlying information.

Acceptable Use Rules

Use of the site must be lawful, respectful, and consistent with these terms. You agree that you will not:

• use the site or its information to violate any local, state, or federal law;
• stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person;
• make employment, housing, lending, insurance, or another regulated eligibility decision from site content;

No Consumer Reports

Nelson County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not offer background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. Its advertising and search partners do not provide those services through this site. By using the site, you agree not to use any information obtained here for:

• decisions about hiring, continued employment, discipline, or termination;
• tenant selection, leasing, or any other housing decision;
• creditworthiness, lending terms, or insurance premiums and eligibility;
• licenses, permits, public benefits, or government-program eligibility; or
• any purpose regulated by the FCRA or another consumer-reporting law.

Links Beyond This Site

Those destinations operate under their own rules and privacy practices. Nelson County Released Inmates does not control their content, data practices, prices, functions, or availability and does not endorse a destination merely by linking to it. Service Without Warranties

The site and all content are supplied on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, no express or implied warranty is made regarding:

• the accuracy, completeness, or current status of any information;
• continuous or uninterrupted access to the site;
• the absence of errors, defects, harmful code, or security weaknesses; or
• the scope, quality, or completeness of results returned by a partner service.

Custody information, court records, office details, and public systems can change without warning. Nothing published here is an official statement from ACRJ, the Nelson County Sheriff, VADOC, a court, or any government agency. Confirm important details with the office that created the record.

Limits on Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by applicable law, Nelson County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contributors, and partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from access to the site, inability to use it, reliance on its content, use of an outside link, or use of a third-party tool.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Nelson County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contributors, and partners from claims, losses, liabilities, expenses, and reasonable legal fees resulting from your use of the site, your misuse of information, or your breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Ownership of Site Materials

The site's original text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Nelson County Released Inmates or the respective content partner and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, republish, distribute, sell, alter, or create derivative material from protected site content without prior written permission from the rights holder.

Revisions to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be revised at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page. Continued use after a change means that you accept the version then in effect.

Suspension of Access

Access to all or part of the site may be restricted, suspended, or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice. This authority includes action taken to protect the site, its visitors, its service providers, or other people.

Virginia Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or use of the site must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Virginia.

Severability of Terms
